Simply put, it is a federation of all segments of the U.S. rice industry, formed by its charter members – the U.S. Rice Producers’ Group, the Rice Millers’ Association and the USA Rice Council. Each organization has a distinct identity and mission, overseen by its own board of directors. But when producers and millers sit down at the federation table, they come together as USA Rice. It is the place where they discuss, and sometimes debate, the critical issues that can make or break a viable U.S. rice industry. It represents a commitment to consensus-building, to equipping the U.S. rice industry with the strength of a unified voice.

USA Rice is also the mechanism through which a full-scope program of work is carried out on behalf of the rice industry, funded by producers, millers and allied members through the charter member organizations. Each segment of the membership brings more than financial support to USA Rice. A wealth of varied experience and expertise enriches the representative committee system. Programs for domestic and international rice promotion, government relations and communications are all operated with guidance from committees composed of producers, millers and representatives from allied industries who advise the board of directors. The board provides direction to the USA Rice staff, who implement programs and policies.

The U.S. Rice Producers' Group

The Rice Millers' Association

Founded in 1899, the Rice Millers’ Association is one of the oldest agricultural trade associations in America. RMA associate members include a wide variety of allied businesses. The Rice Millers’ Association is a charter member of the USA Rice Federation.

The USA Rice Council

The USA Rice Council's mission is to promote the use of U.S. rice and rice products in the United States and around the world. Current member state Rice Councils in Arkansas, California and Louisiana have boards of directors, each of which elects representatives to serve on the USA Rice Council board. In addition to its producer membership, the USA Rice Council has mill members in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri and Texas. Rice-related businesses from throughout the U.S. rice-growing areas support rice promotion through associate membership in the USA Rice Council.
